Clinical Services Director and Manager Required
FirstLight – a long-established, national charity providing professional crisis intervention and counselling services to parents and families suddenly bereaved is seeking to recruit a Clinical Services Director and Clinical Services, Manager.
The Clinical Services Director will be based in FirstLight’s Offices (Carmichael Centre, 4 North Brunswick Street, Dublin 2), will be a member of the senior leadership team and will contribute both strategically and operationally to the overall success of the organisation by leading effectively on client clinical services.
The Clinical Services Manager will be located in a region outside Dublin and will support the Clinical Services Director and deputise for him/her when appropriate. The regional location will be influenced by the location of the preferred candidate.
Both positions are 2-year contract positions: the Clinical Services Director position is for 32 hours (4 days) per week; the Clinical Services Manager position is for 24 hours (3 days) per week.
A strong understanding of and empathy with FirstLight’s mission and objectives is essential as is a values driven approach to work based on integrity and service.
Essential Qualifications, skills and experience
Clinical Services Director
The successful candidate will provide crisis intervention and psychotherapy services to clients who have experienced the sudden loss of their child/sibling; develop the organisation’s client services and monitor the delivery of services by the psychotherapists on FirstLight’s register of psychotherapists and counsellors with a view to ensuring high quality services to FirstLight’s clients.
The successful candidate will have, as a minimum, a qualification to degree level in counselling/psychotherapy, be fully accredited for a minimum of 5 years with the IACP, IAHIP or other modalities of ICP; have experience of/qualification in bereavement counselling, and have relevant management and staff supervisory experience. A keen interest in championing the work of FirstLight is required as are strong networking skills and demonstrable experience of engaging stakeholders at all levels
Clinical Services Manager
The successful candidate will champion the work of FirstLight and will provide crisis intervention and psychotherapy services to clients who have experienced the sudden loss of their child/sibling within their region. Working with the Clinical Services Director, the Clinical Services Manager will support the development of the organisation’s client services and the monitoring of the delivery of services by FirstLight’s outsourced psychotherapists within their region with a view to ensuring high quality services to FirstLight’s clients.
The successful candidate will have, as a minimum, a qualification to degree level in counselling/psychotherapy, be fully accredited for a minimum of 3 years with the IACP, IAHIP or other modalities of ICP; have experience of/qualification in bereavement counselling, be able to demonstrate evidence of networking skills, successful stakeholder engagement and interaction and be IT literate. Previous management experience is desirable.
For both positions: experience of working in the not for profit sector is desirable; a good working knowledge of child protection issues, an adaptable and flexible manner and approach and willingness to work out of hours and travel when necessary is a requirement.

Clinical Services Director position: €50,000 p.a
Clinical Services Manager position: €30,000 p.a.
