Mother’s Day Newsletter March 2025

Mother’s Day is approaching – a day that can bring a mix of emotions. While many are celebrating with cards and flowers, for those who are grieving, today may feel especially tender and challenging. If you’ve experienced pregnancy loss, the death of your child, or the loss of your mother, stepmother, grandmother or mother figure, this day may stir up complex feelings. You might find yourself moving between moments of joy, sadness, longing, and even guilt – and that’s completely normal.
However you feel today, your emotions are valid. There is no ‘right’ way to navigate this day. Be kind to yourself and take the time and space you need.
In this March issue of the newsletter, we have included letters and poems from bereaved mothers who share their wisdom around motherhood and Mother’s Day. We hope some of this might resonate with you, or bring you some comfort. We also reflect on FirstLight’s service delivery and fundraising in 2024, with a special thank you to all our fundraisers and donors, and looking forward to 2025.
